  • Standards, curriculum and school ethos
  • Health, safety and premises, including safeguarding
  • Parental and wider community engagement
  • Assurance and oversight of compliance and risk, including finance.

  • Mrs Dianne Giles

    Headteacher

I feel very privileged to be serving as Headteacher and to have joined the school community in September 2026. Before this, I worked in leadership roles in a large Nottingham City school, having started my teaching career in Derbyshire. I am passionate about making a real difference to children’s lives and believe strongly that every child should feel valued, supported and proud of who they are. I feel incredibly fortunate to be working with such a committed and caring team, and I am excited about getting to know our pupils, families and wider community. It is a real privilege to lead the school, and I look forward to working together with everyone to build on the many strengths of our school and ensure our children have the very best opportunities to learn, grow and flourish.

  • James Henderson

    Local Governor

I moved to Bottesford in 2020 and currently have two children at the school. I work full-time for MHR as an E-Learning Content Developer, which primarily involves developing online learning resources. Having worked in similar roles throughout my career, I am passionate about supporting students to achieve the best possible learning experiences across a variety of environments. As Chair of Governors, I work closely with school leaders and fellow governors to support high-quality teaching and learning across the school and its curriculum. • Lisa Smith

    Governor

I am a Lay Minister at St Mary's Church and I have lived in the village for 11 years. I work as a social worker for Nottinghamshire County Council. I have two children who both attended Bottesford CE Primary School - one is at University and one is in Yr10. As a Christian parent I was always impressed by the compassionate pastoral care and concern for the children, and the focus the school has on developing the whole child, in line with its core Christian values. I have a longstanding interest in the nurture of children and young people through education, having been involved with children's ministry in the Church for 20 years. Now that my own children are teenagers, I have more time to commit to the role of Foundation Governor. I see the role as both an opportunity to 'give back' to a school from which we have received much as a family, but also to contribute to what is already an excellent school in the heart of our community. • Owen Ledbetter

    Parent Governor

I moved to Bottesford in 2018 and currently have 2 children at the school. I work for an Independent Healthcare provider as Head of Professional Learning, overseeing learning and development for a national network of Nurses and Allied Health Professions. My remit is to ensure that all our professionals have the required skills, knowledge and behaviours to meet the regulatory requirements of their role, enabling them to deliver the highest standard of clinical care. I qualified as a Physiotherapist 20 years ago and have worked in varying healthcare settings, moving into learning and development over the last 10 years. I am passionate about empowering people to reach their full potential, supporting people through a variety of approaches that encompass learning, mentoring and coaching. As my role as a Governor, I feel I will be able to utilise my skills and knowledge as a clinician, educator, leader and parent to support the staff and students at Bottesford Primary school.

  • Becky Humphris

    Staff Governor

  • Nick Clark

    Staff Governor

I have lived in the vale of Belvoir for nearly 30 years with my wife Michelle. More recently, I took the decision to step out if the corporate world where I was employed as a Contracts Manager. I needed to take a different path where personal achievement was not measured by profit. I found this at Bottesford, where I am now employed as a Premises Area Manager. Working alongside and supporting the SLT team to ensure a compliant safe and clean environment for the children to flourish in their journey as young students.

  • James Gibbons

    Parent Governor

  • Bobby Greasley

    Parent Governor

I have a strong personal connection to Bottesford Primary School. I attended the school myself, as did all of my siblings, and today I am proud to have three children currently attending. Having seen the school from the perspective of both a pupil and a parent, I care deeply about its future and the opportunities it provides for local children. Professionally, I am the Local Strategy & Execution Manager for BT Group, where I lead programmes that bring together colleagues, customers, community organisations and senior stakeholders to deliver shared goals. A key part of my role is understanding how to build strong relationships, create collaboration and help people perform at their best. I regularly work across diverse teams, balancing different viewpoints and finding practical solutions that benefit everyone involved. I believe these skills are highly relevant to the role of School Governor. As a governor, I want to help strengthen the partnership between parents, staff and the wider community, ensuring that every decision is focused on delivering the best possible outcomes for pupils. My ambition is to support Bottesford Primary School as it continues to evolve and provide an environment where every child feels supported, valued and inspired to succeed. I am passionate about helping young people grow into the best versions of themselves, developing confidence, resilience and a genuine passion for learning that will stay with them throughout their lives.
