School Lunches
We recognise the important benefits a healthy lunchtime meal plays within the school day. We are very pleased to partner with Miquill who provide the catering for children at your school. Miquill are a small, local catering business, whose aim is to make your child’s lunchtime experience tasty and fun. All meals are freshly prepared to order every day. You can find out more about Miquill by having a look at their newsletter.
Lunches need to be ordered on the Arbor Parent Portal. You will be provided with details of how to log-in via a letter once your child has started at school. To book a meal, please log onto your ParentPay account, and under each child’s name, click the blue button labelled ‘make bookings’. Menus run on a three-week rotation and can be found at the bottom of this page.
Special Diets
If your child has any dietary requirements, please let us know so that a suitable menu can be provided to meet their needs. Miquill can cater for a wide range of special diets, including gluten free options and medical diets. Their teams are fully trained to support children with specific dietary needs, ensuring meals are prepared safely and appropriately.
Please note that we do not provide Halal prepared food. Families who require Halal options are advised to choose from the vegetarian or pescatarian dishes available.
You can find more information about Miquill’s allergy aware approach and view the menus below, including the beef free and allergy free menu.
All allergen information for every dish we serve is available on request from the kitchen team, so please get in touch if you would like further details.

Cost
School meals cost £3.20 for children in years 3 and older. All children in Foundation and Key Stage 1 are entitled to free school meals, but all meals need to be booked in advance.
Free School Meals
Starting in September 2026, more families will become eligible for Free School Meals as the Government widens the criteria.
We encourage all parents and carers to take a moment to see if their child might now qualify, including those who have not been eligible in the past.
Free School Meals aren’t only for pupils who have a school lunch. Even if your child usually brings a packed lunch, it’s still worth applying if you meet the criteria.
Who may be eligible?
Your child may be eligible if your household receives certain benefits, including Universal Credit, Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Pension Credit, Child Tax Credit or Working Tax Credit run-on.
If you are unsure, it is still worth applying.
Why apply?
Registering for Free School Meals may entitle your child to free meals, but it also brings additional funding into school through pupil premium.
This funding helps schools provide extra support and opportunities for pupils, including:
- school trips
- additional academic support
- wellbeing support
Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 already receive free meals automatically. However, families should still apply if they are eligible, as this allows the school to receive additional funding.
How to apply
Applying is quick and straightforward and only requires a few basic details. Even if you currently receiving Free School Meals you must re-check your eligibility now in order to continue with FSM in the new academic year: Please note that any school meals taken by children in KS2 next term without a recheck will be charged.
Applications are confidential and will not affect any benefits. The result is copied to your school, so you will not need to notify them of the result. If you need support with your application, please contact the school office.
Packed Lunches
If your child would prefer to bring in a packed lunch, we ask that these are balanced and healthy and do not include fizzy drinks. We are a nut-free school, so please ensure that you do not include any foods containing nuts in lunch boxes. We have children in our school who have a nut allergy and contact with these products could severely threaten their lives.
Breaktime Snacks and Drinks
Foundation stage and Key stage 1 children will receive free fruit during breaktime. Key stage 2 children are allowed to bring a healthy snack, for example, a piece of fruit. Drinking enough water is very important to ensure that children’s brains are functioning to their full potential for learning, so we encourage pupils to bring an unbreakable, named water bottle to school with them every day – filled with water only.
